In March we hosted a Webinar on the subject of ‘How do we Respond to the time that we are living through’.

We have now scheduled a follow up event.
It will be in the form of a ‘Forum’ on the subject of ‘Forming a Unitive Consciousness’.
In developing our follow up to the Aspen Initiative Webinar we wanted to go straight to the heart of the issue.
Consciousness has been evolving since the beginning of time.
And that is true for human consciousness: Our awareness of how to behave within social contexts has necessitated our becoming more conscious of what works within those contexts.
The rule of law, the sacredness of life, and the common understanding of ‘doing unto others as you would have them do unto you’ are all a part of the evolution of our collective consciousness.
In recent times, we have seen an increase in racial consciousness, gender consciousness and planetary consciousness.
With the growth of global communications, TV, the internet and social media, we have also seen the arising of a global consciousness.
With the picture of the earth from space, and a greater understanding of humanity we have come to see how interconnected we all are.
That we are not separate, but all together as a part of the organism that is known as planet earth. And just as a tree needs, air, earth, birds, bugs and sunlight, so we share both the earth’s resources, and the earth’s problems. And if we are to survive as a species we are going to have to learn to work together.
That the greatest question we can ask of any situation is “How can I help?”
All of this is pointing towards the reality of a “Unitive Consciousness”.
An awareness that we are all together in this great endeavor that we call life.
That deep down there is an awareness of our connectedness, and that this awareness is actually the beginning of the solution to many of the world’s problems.
We can see ourselves as all being a part of one whole: not separate, but different expressions of the same consciousness.
The Forum
The question is how we develop awareness of this ‘Unitive Consciousness’, and how we create the understanding that our future depends on our ability to work together.
We want to use this initiative to create a Forum to work out the technologies we are going to need, so that we intentionally form this unitive consciousness.
This will involve:
Enrollment
Education
Energization
Envisioning
Engagement
Empowerment
Where we are now
The circumstances that we find ourselves in at the moment give us a unique opportunity intentionally form this Unitive Consciousness.
Enrolling people who understand that a Unitive Consciousness is the new consciousness that we need to address the problems that we face
Offering forums for Education about moving through the dark night that we find ourselves in and coming together with the understanding that separation is an illusion, and we are all of one unitive nature.
Then
Energizing ourselves to spread the word and bring more people into this understanding.
So that we can
Envision a world where interdependence and cooperation are at the forefront of political life.
Engaging with those in our communities
And we can
Empower our society to make the decisions we need to make in order to keep humanity and our planet safe.

Sherri Michell in her book Sacred Instructions says:
“It is often the bearers of darkness that brings the greatest increase in light. They catalyze others to rise up in response to their harmful or destructive actions. Thus they expand the light. Therefore their role in our larger evolution must be acknowledged. And our spiritual task is to respond positively to that expansion of light by building something meaningful with its glow.”
This is how we, in our generation, respond in a loving way to what we see going on in our world, given that we understand that we are to love our enemies. Enemies who the Tao Te Ching tells us, are the shadows we ourselves cast on the world.
How we respond to what we see, without going into opposition, which is merely to re-enforce the positions we oppose.
About the Forum
In this forum we will be coming together and forming small groups, to look at how we can form that Unitive Consciousness within our world.
Using wisdom from some of our greatest teachers and role models we will give ourselves an opportunity to discover new paths in forming that Unitive Consciousness that is at the heart of all human experience and bringing it into our day to day life.
The Forum is free of charge, however we are encouraging people to make donations in order to cover our costs.
